DESIGN
With nearly 33 years of experience in this competitive & tough industry, APC has always relied on the spirit of well accomplished Designers. A team always in pursuit of perfection in the making of Stainless Steel hardware.
MODELING
Even with all these technological advances, most of our designs and future shapes begin as hand-drawn sketches. This helps to enable and fully conceptualize the ideal form before modeling it in 3D software.
DEVELOPMENT
With a vast diversity of products in Stainless Steel, APC, with determination in the pursuit of its goals, fundamentally in the growth and continuous development of its design lines, we can answer many challenges and fulfill all existing gaps.
PLANNING
Within production, APC has invested in the most advanced technologies, a motto associated with our family type company character, where you can find an excellent relation with price and quality.
Our customers come always 1st.
And has as a main activity the production and commercialization of hardware for furniture and civil construction.
In the past years, APC, has grown from a sustainable and continuous form, being today part of one of the main economical groups - when it comes to Hardware operating in Portugal. Currently our presence can be found in several foreign markets due to our continued progressive work on exportation.

Stainless Steel
We call stainless steel to a group of corrosion resistant steels containing elements such as chromium, nickel, molybdenum and titanium.
Chromium, the main element responsible to increase corrosion resistance, when in contact with atmospheric oxygen, forms a layer over the steel surface, protecting it from corrosive environmental attacks. Even when the steel suffers from some type of damage, the oxygen from the air immediately combines with the chromium to once again form the protective film.
The first studies appeared in 1912 in England and Germany, since then, we have seen the rise of successive alloys. England contributed with Fe-Cr alloy, approximately 13% of Cr, presented in nowadays as AISI 420 (martensitic structure) and Germany, with the same alloy also containing Ni, quite similar to AISI 302 (austenitic microstructure).
AISI 201 / 304 / 316
AISI 201
The two most commonly used stainless steels are the 201 and 304 AISI. Each type of steel has its own unique composition, which is why you can find differences in strengths, weaknesses and appearances. These unique compositions allow the industry to make certain types of stainless steel ideally for certain projects.
Part of the austenitic group, stainless steel 201, is made from nickel, chromium and manganese. It is an alloy which uses less nickel than the 304 but is compensated with manganese. This makes it stronger however and on the downside, during production, it becomes more difficult to mold and weld. In comparison to the 304, the 201 is less corrosion resistant and is mostly used in less oxidizing environments.
AISI 304
The most versatile and widely used of all stainless steels. It has less carbon to minimize the carbides precipitation and it is used for a wide range of high temperature applications.
Austenitic stainless steel chrome-nickel non-magnetic, has good weldability, high toughness and excellent corrosion resistance in a wide variety of environments.
AISI 316
Austenitic stainless steel Chrome-Nickel, with similar properties to the 304 alloy, benefits in being more resistant to the harshest environments.
It has minimum chromium content of 16%, 10% nickel and 2% of molybdenum. The molybdenum provides an additional corrosion resistance making it useful in chemically hostile conditions. It is useful for higher corrosion environments and temperatures below zero.
